I have been meaning to post this since I took Six Sigma Green Belt training about a year ago. This is a wonderful perspective from both workers and management that were on the ground floor of the first GM/Toyota (NUMMI) collaboration in California in the 80’s. It discusses in detail and human terms how and why Toyota’s methods permeated GM’s culture – and how and why they did not.
It aired about the same time I took the class, and thus was especially fascinating. But for perhaps a very few small details, it is not overly dated. It’s about an hour-long listen.
